Historytelling is an informative, comic and silly reflection on writing throughout history and its relation to how we are now. It is an hour show/workshop comprising small segments focusing on different key parts of an historical figure’s life and times. There are currently three Historytelling stories: Aethelflaed, Owain Glyndwr and Moon Historytelling. In addition there are two ‘Co’ workshops who are in the family, but not about history: Yoga Storytelling & Mission: Save The World (an active workshop about Climate Change).
Come and join us for Moon Historytelling: a silly, interactive adventure through the history of the moon for the whole family to enjoy! We will start by looking at the Greeks and Romans who believed a goddess pulled the moon through the sky each night. We’ll zoom through some fascinating stories from other ancient cultures, including an explosive story from Ancient China. Next we’ll have a quick break at the Renaissance and meet VIP Astronomer Galileo, before jetting off to the Apollo missions and the moon landings. Together, we’ll take a look at what they all thought about Moon, through games, stories and activities!
Families are invited to get up on their feet and step into the past, in this workshop exploring the story of Aethelflaed and her life in the middle ages. From smelly clothes to fearsome battles, and from tricky middle English words to funny things for supper, participants will work together to work their way through medieval Gloucester and to lead Mercia to success.
